DRILLING BOTS SCRAPER

Item No.: DRILLING BOTS SCRAPER Versatile SCRAPER
Clean critical casing sections with up to three tools (scraper, brush, and mill) in one string
Description
DRILLING BOTS SCRAPER

New technology allows operators the flexibility to drill into the reservoir section, then immediately carry out casing cleanup and preparation before running in their lower completion on the next trip.

The new Drillbots Drilling Scraper from SHARP RAZOR has during its short lifespan shown remarkable results. The powerful design allows the tool to be included in a drilling work string without interfering or pre-activating the tool. Once the drilling operation is completed at target depth, the Drillbots is pulled inside the casing shoe for activation. The tool then prepares the lower completion setting area(s), either by reciprocation, rotation or both, before pulling the drilling work string out of the well.

No impact on the assembly

Preparing the wellbore before running lower completion is usually a two-trip operation (or more). The design team at SHARP RAZOR was looking for a methodology to save a trip from this procedure. They developed the Drillbots - a tool that can run integral to the drilling work string without impacting the bottom hole assembly tooling operation.

Shorten trips

So far, the Drillbots has been run in four wells on various rigs, including deepwater, with success for a cumulative of 181 drilling hours. On every job, the tool activated within design parameters and prepared the casing. The Operators saved dedicated trips for casing preparation, thus reducing their costs significantly.

The novelty of the new technology will further enhance drilling and completion operations by streamlining the process to deliver time and cost savings, particularly in deepwater applications, by combining operations into one single trip.

DRILLING BOTS SCRAPER Tool and MAGNET star Magnet Save 28 h, USD 408,000 in sichuan Well
BHA outfitted with casing cleaning tool and openhole magnet minimizes trips, reduces operational risks, and collects 21.2 kg [46.6 lbm] of large debris
Perform critical casing cleanout in fewer trips while reducing debris risks
Before running sand screens, an operator in Azerbaijan needed to drill through a float collar, cement, casing shoe, and 8 1/2-in × 9 1/4-in openhole section to TD, while minimizing the risk of packoff around large-OD tools.Conventional rotational casing scrapers often require multiple trips and leave debris that jeopardizes subsequent operations.

Combine versatile casing cleaning tool and openhole magnet

The DRILLING BOTS SCRAPER tool has an integral fluted stabilizer to maximize bypass for optimal ECD control. The tool features retractable scraper blades that reduce the risk of packing off around the pads while running in hole and lessen casing wear, unlike a rotational scraper with fixed scraper blades. Once drilling is complete and TD is reached, the tool can be activated by dropping a ball, extending the blades to scrape the casing walls.

The MAGNET star  magnet has a slick OD enabling rotation and reciprocation in the open hole with nofear of damaging the formation. Its powerful magnets and generous debris collection valleys make it ideal for capturing and retaining ferrous debris from the flow path.
